October Fall Classic
Lot 1039a:
Description
This is a phenomenal and rare assemblage of service tools and original parts for a classic Mills Novelty Company slot machine, likely from the 1930s-1950s era, given the style of the reel strips and payout cards. These kits were essential for operators to maintain, adjust, and re-set their machines. The lot includes a great variety of specialized T-handle wrenches and levers, a ‘Compliments Of’ lever or arm, multiple metal bar/blade tools for internal adjustments, a key, and a red-handled screw or adjustment tool, all made of steel and cast iron. Crucially, the lot features original paper components: payoff schedule cards (showing Jackpot and various fruit/bell/bar combinations), at least two cardboard boxes containing spare reel strips with classic fruit symbols (Cherries, Lemon, Bell, Plum, etc.), wooden dowels/plugs for service or coin tubes, and several strips of adhesive or laminated number and dollar amount decals marked B. A. GILL, CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. and some boxes marked 516 WEST 34th STREET, NEW YORK, N.Y. 10001, which are important manufacturer/supplier references. The overall condition is good for a working service lot; the tools show heavy patina, rust, and oil staining consistent with regular use in a garage or on-site operation, but appear functionally intact. The paper materials are age-toned, folded, and show light stains and edge wear but are largely legible. The cotton cloth/wadding is dirty and torn. The included parts are excellent for restoration or as a historical collection display piece. In a box H 12″, W 12″, D 12″
