Description
A Polish People’s Army (LWP) dress belt, likely dating from the Post-War period. The belt features a woven fabric strap, approximately 1.75″ wide, in a light, possibly off-white or tan color, accented with thin red piping along the edges. The prominent circular buckle, which looks to be made of a silver-toned metal (perhaps nickel-plated brass or aluminum), displays the distinct Polish Eagle emblem characteristic of the communist era (the “piast eagle” without a crown). This style of ceremonial belt would have been worn with parade or dress uniforms. The overall condition of the strap shows clear signs of age and use, with expected discoloration, light staining, and creasing from being stored and handled. The metal buckle appears to be in good shape, retaining its detail and patina, with the typical wear one would expect on a vintage military item. Stamped “277 W” on back of larger buckle and “D 113” on smaller central portion of buckle. 42″ long, 1.75″ wide. Please see photos.
