This comprehensive and eclectic collection features a 1952-dated military footlocker by Texas Trunk Co. Inc., housing an extensive array of 20th-century militaria. The collection is anchored by a boxed WWII Victory Medal and includes significant paper ephemera such as a “Raw War” Chicago Daily News photogravure book and a German Volksgasmaske (Civilian Gas Mask) VM 40 instruction manual with its corresponding filter and canvas facepiece. A Chicago American Newspaper with headline “Hitler Reports 895,000 Reds Taken dated Aug 6, 1941, and a German newspaper dated March 1943. Notable insignia includes a “USA CANADA” First Special Service Force style patch, multiple US collar disks, marksmanship badges (Rifle, Machine Gun), and ribbon bars. Technical gear is represented by a Model I-42 Low Voltage Circuit Tester and a hand-operated wooden bellows. There are several US Overseas caps (3), A ditty bag, a pair of mismatched leggings, a button polisher, Medical officers kit, and bags for a US training and protective gas mask. The assortment is rounded out by WWII-era German “Death Cards,” Occupation currency, and a US-marked mess spoon.
