US WWII Pacific Theater of Operation
collection. It includes:
1. USN Seabees Construction Battalion Sterling Silver and 10K gold ring by Ritter L.A. Approx size 8.75. Nice sharp details on sides and center. 2. Large collection of original photo snapshots taken in the Pacific Theater of Operations. In several groupings. First looks to be a set of purchased photo prints. 38 in all. Of combat as well as its aftermath. Small booklet of photos from Bear Photo Service contains 11 photo prints inside. Groups of Navy soldiers posing in front of destroyed artillery, in vehicles, on Navy Base. Location unclear. Largest group of approx. 71 photo prints includes a wide selection of stereotypical South Pacific images, including many photos of native men and women of the region. Groups of sailors carrying out work, having fun, in groups. Several photos of a specific sailor wearing nothing but a grass skirt and smoking a pipe, as well as him in other group shots. Images of bombers, land vehicles and landing craft. Two group photos of sailors in front of tent w/ sign -73rd N.C.B. Electrical Shop- . Written on back of that is-Bill Schroeder is the first one standing at the left. Last photo is group of men in front of tent. Written on back is -Dear Mon. Here is a picture of our crew. 7.Matchbooks/box x 3 and a Match King-The Everlasting Match, new in box. One of the matchboxes features a Japanese flag with fighter planes emanating from it over the rest of the planet that has the British, American and Chinese? Flags below.
