Guns, Ammo, and Militaria Auction
Lot 2171a:
Description
Pair of black powder flasks circa late 1800s early 1900’s.
1) The first powder flask is copper/brass and has a floral/shell motif throughout. There are a few dents at its base, but overall it is in fair to good shape. Nice even patina and it retains all of its hardware/loops for the carrying strap. The spring steel clip is missing, which doesn’t return the lever for releasing the contents. Stamped “AMFLASK CAP CO” on neck. It is marked for four measurement between 3 and 4 drams. Item measures 8-1/2” x 4-1/2” x 2-1/4”.
2) Leather covered powder flask, manufactured by “G&JW Hawksley” stamped on neck. The leather stitching around much of the base has come apart, and the seam is split on the metal container itself. The brass spout mechanism is clean and operates as it should. It is marked for four measurements between 2-1/4 and 4 drams. Item measures 8” x 3-1/2” x 1-3/4”.
A nice pair of powder flasks for your antique firearm collection. Please see pictures.
