A trio of US Army issued canvas duffel bags circa 1940’s-1950’s. The first is manufactured 1944, John Inglestroem Co. Stenciled in brick red paint “RE-2127-32” Above that is pen and ink black& red 1st Infantry Division insignia with “June 6 1944 Omaha Beach” below. Also written in black ink on other side is “R.G. Steininger 3671291 R.C.S.” The story is that this was picked up in Naperville, ILL at a garage sale for $1.00 in the early 2010’s. Did this go ashore on Omaha Beach? Further research needed. Second duffel bag is manufactured by Dickey MFG CO, 1952. Named (stenciled in black) to “Michael A. Sweet US 55453631″ Below that is a large 7×10” 82nd Airborne in white paint, with red and green marker-ink. Above that are jump wings with two stars, all in silver paint.. Third duffel bag has manufacture markings that are faint. Stenciled on the exterior in white paint: “KLOUBEC DENNIS A. AF I6873566”
