Description
Hard shell Pattern 1872 Shako is well marked on the inside for maker W. Stokes Kirk. the owner’s name is lightly penciled in the paper label and is hard to read but not impossible. The white plume is very loose due to the internal leather bracket being loose and has fuze loss to back area. The wool body shows age, wear and some very light moth tracks. The plume color may be for quartermaster buff white. The letter “A” is for the company. Leather top has light crazing and the outer leather band has heavy crazing. The visor and chinstrap have very light crazing. Shako is in overall good plus condition. These shakos don’t show up on the market very often.
