Lot 24b:
Cased studio shoulder portrait tintype of a young in civilian clothing. In back of tintype is a small folded piece of paper with a hand written note in pencil which reads, “My beloved boy Watson Ellsworth who died a hero on the battle field of Bull Run. We shall meet but we will miss him. His mother Patrice.” It is housed in a typical leatherette case in poor condition with a broken tape hinge and deterioration to the case cover. Measures 3.25″ wide, 3.75″ tall.
