Civil War Auction
Lot 226e:
Description
We put this ‘sterling” pattern sword somewhere from 18809s to 1920s. This sword is 40″ overall with 31″ double edge blade and is also double etched with thistle and crown pattern with a royal cypher that we can not make out. The blade is very bright with only some in/out wear and has good tip. The basket has red leather under the polished steel basket. The leather and wire wrapped handle are tight and in very good condition. Scabbard shows wear and age to chrome. This is such an iconic sword and shows real age that is pleasing to the eye.
