Civil War Auction
Lot 225:
Description
This British regiment flag fragment is 12″ x 16″ and it appears to be from a Scottish regiment. The blue fabric body is made of a ribbed “ribbon” type of material with a red silk section with wire bullion design with thistle and leaf design border and bullion center with roman numeral II and letter D. The bullion needle work is excellent and uses different colored thread to show color shapes. We are unsure of the unit or the meaning of this insigina. We welcome comments regarding this flag. The condition is very good plus with some worn areas of the red silk. and is tastefully framed in 20″x 26″ wood and glass frame. The frame has some worn edges and corners that can be touched up.
