Buyer's premium:

This sky blue great coat has attached cape and is depot-manufacturers ink stamp in left armpit. It has no front pockets and appears to be unaltered. The stamp is hard to read but looks like “Smith”… and “New York”. It has 5 under layer thin neck eagle button and the cape has 6 smaller buttons with the 1st and 6th button being New York Militia buttons. The larger button holes show most of the wear from use. The neck has is missing one of 2 eyelet hooks and both of the hook loops. The “bites” of wear appear not to be mothing. They include the edge of cape on back, two bigger holes to back of right sleeve elbow and one smaller on back of left sleeve elbow. There are smaller holes and larger light brown stains/wear in different areas. We will ask bidders to refer to our photographs. The rear belt closure was a single eagle button. This is one of the most iconic parts of Civil War uniforms and highly sought after.
