This machine in its elaborate mahogany cabinet has its original finish and is nicely appointed on all sides and the top cover has decorative embossed molding. In addition to these moldings the front features an elaborately carved insert panel. Has its cabinet key. Inside the top cover it has the original paper insert featuring the Criterion trademark and 4 frolicking cherubs playing instruments. The 15-1/2″ double comb mechanism is in good unrestored condition. The 2 combs have no visible broken teeth or tips. Both combs have some light surface rust. Has its original winding crank and celluloid operating instruction tags. The motor winds and runs and plays well. The machine comes with 19 original 15-1/2″ zinc Criterion discs of various titles all of which appear to be in playable condition. The machine sits atop an elaborate mahogany base cabinet which has been refinished and is slightly darker than the music box. This cabinet features elaborate applied carvings on all four sides of the apron just below the top. Has an open area shelf as well as a pull out shelf on the right side. The lower front doors have applied carvings and the previously described key also works the lock on the base cabinet doors. Has its complete original interior with 14 wooden dividers and 15 compartments for disc storage. Cabinet and base measure 24″ W X 23″ D X 46″ T.
