August Summer Classic Auction
Lot 2150:
Description
Circa 1905 self measuring gas pump made by Sylvanus Bowser of Ft. Wayne Indiana. Bowser is widely recognized as the inventor of the gas pump. This is the pre hose model where you would fill a pail or acan from the brass faucet and then pour it into the automobile through a funnel. This pump is in remarkable original condition and came from a south side of Chicago repair shop that has been in the same family for 5 generations. Even the red paint is original. These early pumps are seldom found anymore especially in this original condition so don’t miss your chance to add this to your collection. Measures 55" tall. No shipping on this item. Customer pickup or 3rd party transport only
