This impressive machine in its elaborate oak cabinet, with a beveled glass panel highlighting the powerful spring motor, has been professionally cleaned with care having been taken to preserve the original decals. The entire cabinet has been carefully and lightly recoated. It has retained the original rich patina and beauty. It presents very well – in overall excellent condition. This machine retains all its original front mount brackets and arms. Both the tone arm, horn support cradle and decorative lower support arm, all have their original nickel plating and thumb screws with some wear and minor pitting. Original arms are not often seen in these machines which makes this one even more special. Original long throat reproducer which is marked inside (Universal Talking Machine Company) The ornamental cast iron bedplate has original nickel plating with some minor wear and in good condition. Original friction brake and cast iron turntable. The turntable has the original felt as well as its small spring loaded pin which is unique to Zonophones. Original 29-1/2"L all brass horn and elbow with a 14"D bell all of which are brightly polished and in good condition, however, there is a small oval shaped brass patch that has been placed on the side of the horn to cover a small hole. See photos. Original winding crank with some minor pitting and machine winds, runs and plays. The cabinet measures 16" W X 13" D X 7-1/2" T. This is a nice example of a hard to find machine.
