Lot 2334:
This M1860 Staff & Field sword is from the late 19th Century. The double etched blade has very basic “US & Eagle” pattern. Blade is marked “G.W. Simmons & Co Boston Mass” and tip is good and blade has darkened with age. Has no nicks to edges. Handle and crossguard are fairly tight with play to pummel. Leather wrapped Handle shows wear and chips to black leather. Scabbard is well made and has ‘x” marking at top of throat and shows age and wear but chrome is not flaking or blistering. 29″ blade and 35.5″ overall.
