Long Description: This is a mismatched projectile and cartridge case. Aluminum cartridge case is from expended AN-M57A1 Double Star Aircraft Tracer Signal. Projectile is 38mm civilian crowd control baton. Markings stenciled on cartridge case are “SIGNAL AIRCRAFT TRACER; DOUBLE STAR AN-M57A1; LOT MMC–10 – 3A; JULY 1953”. Letters “TR” are found on upper red band. Between 2 wide red bands is a black Ordnance bomb. 2) Item Description: Plastic cartridge case with semi-hard nosed projectile. Type/Model: Unknown. Cal./Size: 1 ½-inches in diameter and 4 ¾-inches high Color: White cartridge case & brown projectile nose Manufacturer: Aircraft Armament Industries, Inc. Country of Origin: USA. Trainer: Yes. Long Description: No primer in cartridge case. There are no markings on case or rubber projectile. The note on accompanying box identifies this as “Soft Slug”. Case is marked “SINGLE (RUBBER) BATON; ROUNDS, CAL. 37/38MM; LOT: F9.83”. No headstamp on the cartridge case. 4) Item Description: Plastic cased tear agent cartridge. Type Designator/Model: Ferret. Long Description: Aluminum cartridge case is sectioned to allow solid rubber baton on inside to show. Markings on case are “38mm; SINGLE BATON”. Part of case headstamp has is cut off, but remaining marks are “…L 7/81”. 7) Item Description: Plastic Ferret projectile. Type Designator/Model: 37mm Ferret Barricade Penetrating projectile. Cal./Size: 1 ½-inches diameter & 4-inches long. Color: Black. Manufacturer: Unknown Country of Origin: USA. Long Description: This example of Ferret projectile has four plastic fins, two of which has chips missing from rear. This version has the anti-richochet tabs on the front of the projectile. There is small paper sticker with number 6 hand written on it.
