Guns & Militaria
Lot 1098:
Description
Inland M1 .30 Carbine Rifle in excellent condition. The bore is beautiful. The “X” in the serial number meant there was a duplicate serial number! This carbine is unusual in that the serial number is followed by an “X” suffix. The receiver is also marked “SG” on the left side, below the wood line. This indicates that the receiver was actually manufactured by Saginaw for Inland. Apparently Saginaw inadvertently duplicated the serial numbers of some receivers that were manufactured by Inland and thus the “X” was added to avoid having two weapons with the exact same number.
