*NO SHIPPING – PICKUP OR THIRD PARTY TRANSPORT ONLY* A very limited and faithful recreation of the famous seahorse base aquarium made by the Jewel Aquarium Co. of Chicago in the 1920’s& 30’s. Jewel designed and marketed some of the most unusual aquariums ever made and they are highly prized by collectors today. This highly detailed model from the home of a prominent collector features a cast iron base with 6 copper oxidized legs in the form of seahorses with a hexagon shaped black marble top. The aquarium itself is hexagon shaped with copper oxidized cast iron dolphins forming the brackets that hold the plate glass sides in place. Topping the tails of the dolphins are 6 lights made of copper oxidized cast iron in the form of sea shells. In overall VG condition, it has a multiple of uses including an aquarium, a vivarium, or a terrarium. The base measures 48" wide, 30" deep, and 31" tall. The top unit measures 45" wide, 24" deep, 17" tall. It is very heavy.
