Vintage Brass Repousse Wall Candle Sconce, featuring the Coat of Arms of the city of Gdansk (Danzig), dates from the 1930s to 60s, design is formed by hammering the brass from the reverse side, two counter-facing lions holding an armorial shield topped with a crown, traditional emblem of Gdansk, polished center designed to reflect the flame’s glow into the room, triple-arm scrolled holder accommodates standard taper candles (included), no visible maker’s mark, D-ring for mounting, brass shows significant oxidation, tarnish and minor wear, good vintage condition with a beautiful, authentic aged patina. 21″ x 18″ Perfect for collectors of European heraldry or anyone who would like to add a touch of Old-World charm to a dining room, hallway or study.
