Edison BSCO Wet-Cell Battery Jar, primary cell battery used by railroad companies to power track signals and by early telephone and telegraph companies as a stead, reliable, power source, jar held liquid, white lids suspended heavy internal metal elements down into the liquid, the metal rods and wing-nuts acted as terminal connections to hook up wires and draw electrical current, spring-like wire on the top used for quick, reliable connections to the circuit, porcelain lid features te “Edison BSCO Primary Battery” text, patent date ranges from 1908 to 1911, Edison acquired the “BSCO” (Battery Supplies Company) around 1908, undamaged glass jar, lid, internal metal plates and terminals, typical oxidation, dust, buildup on the plates, glass jar is clear, no visible cracks, good vintage condition, 6 1/2″ x 10″
