Description

An exceptional lot of early 20th-century recorded sound reference ephemera, indispensable for the serious phonograph historian or restoration specialist. This collection features a hardbound edition of The Talking Machine News (Vol. VI, No. 73, March 28, 1908) published out of London, packed with fantastic period advertisements for Zonophone and The American Talking Machine Co. Accompanying it is a comprehensive Valley Forge Replacement Materials catalog issued by the J.A. Fischer Company of New York, complete with a specialized, layered thumb-index detailing replacement mainsprings, governors, and intricate gears for Victor, Columbia, and Edison machines. Both items exhibit typical age-related wear, including exterior scuffing, edge chipping, and fading to the covers, alongside minor creasing and wear on the catalog’s index tabs, though the interior pages remain remarkably clean and fully legible. H 11″, W 8.25″, D 1″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
