Description

An intriguing trio of vintage hardcovers tracing the evolution of measurement, manufacturing, and audio technology. This expert-curated lot features Martin P. Nilsson’s seminal work Primitive Time-Reckoning (1960 second edition, Malmö), a fascinating deep dive into how early cultures perceived and measured time. Accompanying it is David A. Hounshell’s highly regarded From the American System to Mass Production, 1800–1932, published by The Johns Hopkins University Press (1991 printing), which masterfully details the rise of U.S. manufacturing technology. Completing the stack is John Sunier’s The Story of Stereo: 1881—, published in 1960 by Gernsback Library, Inc., featuring a custom “George Shiers” geometric ex-libris bookplate on the front pastedown. All volumes exhibit light shelf wear, minor corner bumping, and typical age-toning to the pages, but remain structurally sound with clean text blocks. H 4″, W 10″, D 7″. See photos for condition.
