This remarkable collection brings together several essential biographical accounts documenting the life and genius of America’s premier inventor, Thomas Alva Edison. Included in the lot are a 1929 red cloth-bound two-volume set of “Edison: His Life and Inventions” by Frank Lewis Dyer and Thomas Commerford Martin, published by Harper & Brothers in New York and London; an exceptionally early 1879 green cloth-bound edition of “Edison and His Inventions” edited by J.B. McClure and published by Rhodes & McClure in Chicago; and a 1996 softcover copy of “Thomas Alva Edison: The Man Who Illuminated the World” by Lawrence A. Frost, published by Amereon House in Mattituck, New York. Notably, Volume I of the Harper & Brothers set features a vintage bookplate from Kenneth G. Brill of Saint Paul, Minnesota, hand-dated “2-1-36”. All volumes are in structurally intact, good antique-to-vintage condition, exhibiting typical age-related shelf wear, corner bumping, minor spine fading, and light spot staining or foxing to the edges and interiors as expected from handling over the decades.
