Lot 3194:
Description
This exceptional mid-century Victor Talking Machine Co. “Nipper” advertising statue, featuring the iconic fox terrier listening for “His Master’s Voice,” is a true classic of American audio history. This hollow composition store display piece retains its highly desirable original manufacturer’s paper label inside, confirming it was produced by W. L. Stensgaard and Associates, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois. The statue captures Nipper’s charming, alert expression with his distinctive black-painted ears, nose, eyes, and studded collar details intact. Showing standard signs of age for these fragile retail displays, the piece exhibits minor paint wear, light surface scuffs, and small cracks at its feet on the base, along with a visible hairline crack where the front left leg meets the body, but remains in overall excellent, structurally stable condition. H 18″, W 17″, D 7″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
