Description

Featured here is an authentic, double-sided advertising print from the Victor Talking Machine Company of Philadelphia, featuring their legendary “His Master’s Voice” trademark painted by Francis Barraud. The front side, features the iconic terrier Nipper listening intently to an early Victor gramophone, while the reverse side contains historical promotional text listing major U.S. distributors and encouraging the owner to cut out and frame the picture. This piece is a wonderful artifact from the golden age of early audio marketing and phonograph history. The piece is housed in a vintage light blue mat; the print itself exhibits age-appropriate toning, minor foxing, and old adhesive tape residue and staining along the back margins from a previous mounting, though the central graphic remains bold and clean. The document measures 6.75” x 9.75” within a mat measuring 1.5” wide, yielding total dimensions of H 9.75″, W 12.75″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
