Description
The Columbia Type AJ Disc Graphophone commonly called the “Top-Wind AJ” was introduced in 1901 and was Columbia’s entry into the disc market and is the only time Columbia built a disc phonograph with a winding mechanism on top of the motor plate rather than the side. This is a very nice alloriginal example with original finish oak case, copper oxidized carrying handle, original crank, aluminum tone arm, and reproducer. and a very nice 16″ all brass horn with a 8.875″ bell. Measures 11″ wide, 11″ deep, and 14.5″ tall to the top of the horn. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
