Description
Original sheet music for Phonograph (March Brillante) by Charles D. Blake published in 1878 by the White, Smith & Company in Boston. It stands as one of the very first pieces of sheet music celebrating Thomas Edison’s newly invented phonograph. The cover depicts the famous French operatic soprano Marie Rôze, who was touring the United States around the time of the phonograph’s introduction, with a tinfoil phonograph. In VG original condition with an old repair to the left hand edge center of the paper. Framed and matted under glass. Frame measures 13.75” wide, 17.5” tall. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
