Lot 2180:
Description
This impressive pair of buckskin gauntlets showcases striking Native American styling, featuring meticulously crafted seed beadwork on the wide cuffs that depicts two bison walking along a green groundline, set against a solid white beaded background. Each glove features a stylized four-petal beaded floral element on the back of the hand, lengthy cascading leather fringe along the outer edge of the cuffs, and a beautifully patterned calico or floral fabric interior lining. The buckskin remains soft and supple with light natural handling wear, minor surface smudging, and faint discoloration to the leather on the undersides, while the beadwork is exceptionally tight and shows no evidence of bead loss.
