Description
This 274-page volume of “The Book of the American Indian,” written by Hamlin Garland and illustrated by Frederic Remington, represents a notable later printing of this Western Americana classic. Published by Harper & Brothers, this edition features Remington’s renowned monochromatic illustrations throughout. The book is bound in brown paper-covered boards with a dark blue cloth spine and a pictorial inlay on the front cover. Condition is fair to good; the exterior displays significant edge wear, bumped corners, and scuffing to the boards, and while the title page shows heavy foxing and staining, the remaining interior pages are clean. The “G-B” code on the copyright page identifies this as a July 1927 printing. H 12.5″, W 9″, D 1.75″ Please see photos.
