Description

A classic, Cold War-era icon! A Willys M38A1 1/4-ton 4×4 utility truck, often cited as the first “round-fender” Jeep that paved the way for the civilian CJ-5. Manufactured by Willys Motors, Inc., this vehicle features the legendary Hurricane F-head 4-cylinder engine and a T-90 3-speed transmission. Fully restored, the Jeep is an excellent runner, requiring little help from the choke. The seats have been reupholstered with heavy duck canvas, and modern seat belts and turn signals have been added. The vehicle’s original 24-volt system and been switched to 12 volts and the tires (though not NDTs) are in excellent condition. The combat rims are in good shape and the under carriage is remarkably clean. It also sports the correct OD paint work with U.S. Army markings. The finish is in good shape, with minor paint dings, which are common on a majority of military Jeeps. Tube is clean and solid. Included with the vehicle is a rear mounted spare tire, jerry can, and several manuals. Data plates are all present, but modern reproduction with no stampings. Mechanically the jeep appears to run and operate as it should, however, the emergency brake does need to be adjusted. This is a perfect Jeep for parades, veteran displays, or just out driving around the town. Please see photos for overall condition.
