Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2356:
Description
This is a beautiful example of a late 19th to early 20th-century German wall clock, likely produced by Junghans or a similar Black Forest maker. The case is expertly crafted from walnut with ornate architectural carvings, including turned spindles, acanthus leaf accents, and a pediment-style cornice. The brass dial features a floral repoussé center surrounded by a porcelain-style chapter ring with bold Arabic numerals, paired with a swinging pendulum depicting a romanticized figure on a swing. Mechanically, the clock features a brass movement and a coiled gong chime. The wood case shows areas where decorative elements need to be re-secured or glued, particularly at the cornice; the movement is reported to be operational but has not been tested for long-term timekeeping accuracy. H 32″, W 16″, D 8″. Please see photos for condition.
