ONLINE ONLY Coins & Jewelry - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 1
Lot 95:
Description
This is a quintessential Art Nouveau desk clock, likely dating from the early 20th century. The piece features a graceful, organic spelter case cast with a flowing grapevine motif, complete with detailed leaves and hanging fruit clusters typical of the period’s fascination with nature. The clock face is a classic white porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and an elegant “JB” monogram, often associated with fine French or European clockmakers of this era. While the case retains a beautiful, honest patina that hasn’t been overly polished, the movement is currently non-functional. The second hand is missing, and although the clock winds and can be set, it does not operate and will require a professional service to return to working order. The porcelain dial shows some characteristic hairline cracks but remains complete and legible. H 12.75″, W 6″, D 4.25″. See photos for condition.
