Description
This is an exquisite French Art Nouveau figural lamp titled “Harmonie,” featuring a classical female personification of music. The piece is signed “Vaugen” on the base and carries the “Fabrication Francaise, Paris” foundry seal, marking it as a distinguished late 19th or early 20th-century Parisian decorative work. Cast in metal with a rich bronze-toned finish, the lamp showcases the fluid, organic lines of the era through its sweeping floral arch and three light sockets. These sockets are remarkably complete with rare, translucent beaded glass “bouquet” covers in amber and blue. Structurally, the right arm is cast separately and shows a visible gap at the shoulder seam, and there is a distinct break where the floral branch meets the raised hand. One string appears to be missing from the lyre, the surface shows typical oxidation and finish wear, and the piece will require professional rewiring and a new plug. H 35″, W 17″, D 12″.
