Description
Very rare Splitdorf R-425-C radio receiver in a Mikado Chinese hand decorated black lacquer case with matching table and remote speaker stand. In overall good condition. All tubes present in receiver. This was a battery operated unit and has not been tested. The fold down speaker door is missing a small wood strip on the top. All original tuning knobs are present behind a fold down door. The matching base table has 2 side compartments for batteries, and a center drawer. The front right gallery under the battery compartment has slight damage to the wood. The rare remote speaker stand comes with 2 untested drivers one of which fits into the base of the wood stand. The curvature of the wood forms a vertical horn. The sound comes out of an opening with 2 small doors. The top has an open pergola in which a small electrified lantern hung (lantern not present). This set has been in the same family since purchased new in 1925 for a reported $1,200. Receiver measures 43″ wide, 10″ tall, 13.5″ deep. Base table measures 48″ wide, 30.25″ tall, 17″ deep. Speaker stand measures 55″ tall, 12″ wide, 12″ deep. No shipping on this item. Customer pickup or 3rd party transport only.
