Description
A carved wood prancing stag by the German carousel maker Heyn circa 1890 in overall good + condition. The detail to the carving is fantastic making it look like real hair. Paint has been stripped. Has the carved eagle head seat, real antlers, chipped glass eyes, brass rosettes present but all but 3 jewels missing, no stirrups or reins, tail intact, some joint separation but no broken or missing pieces. A great candidate for restoration. Has hole for original V stand between front legs but has also been drilled for a pole. Comes with brass pole and floor stand.
