Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2392:
Description
This impressive Victorian-era banquet table showcases the ingenuity of 19th-century furniture design, featuring a robust split-pedestal base with architectural scrolled feet on casters and elegant burl walnut diamond inlays along the apron. The primary construction is walnut with a rich, warm patina, supported by a heavy-duty internal wooden sliding rail system designed to accommodate the seven included 10-inch wide matching leaf inserts. It is a versatile piece of “statement” furniture that transitions from an intimate table to a grand banquet surface extending to over 9 feet. Condition is good for its age, showing typical surface wear including scattered scratches, minor scuffs to the finish on the tabletop, and some expected nicks to the base and feet; the leaves are currently unfinished on the undersides, see photos.
