Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2179:
Description
This is a classic mid-century American-style cruiser bicycle, featuring the iconic cantilever frame design that defined the post-war era of cycling. Built for comfort and style, these “balloon tire” cruisers were ubiquitous on suburban streets during the 1950s and 1960s, typically manufactured by companies like Schwinn, Murray, or Huffman. The bike sports a distinctive light green paint scheme, a springer-style fork, and a comfortable saddle, all hallmarks of the heavy-duty, utilitarian design of the time. The bicycle is in weathered, original condition; the frame shows significant paint loss, surface oxidation, and patina consistent with its age. The components, including the handlebars, pedals, and chain guard, show wear and surface rust. Note that the chain guard is currently loose and missing the rear mounting bolt, which attaches to the rear axle frame. The tires are currently unable to hold air and the mechanical functionality of the coaster brake is untested. H 38″, W 20″, D 66″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/ Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
