Description
This vintage metal tip tray features a detailed portrait of a stag, representing the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.), Lodge 376 of Coshocton, Ohio. Produced by the renowned H.D. Beach Co., based in “The Sign Town of America,” this piece is a classic example of early 20th-century lithographed metal advertising. Small trays like this were ubiquitous on bar and retail counters of the era, designed to hold change or small tips. The design utilizes a classic purple and cream palette with high-contrast typography. The sign shows moderate signs of age-appropriate wear, including surface scratches on the black reverse side and minor finish loss along the edges consistent with its vintage nature.
