The Frank Rider Collection - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 2
Lot 1260:
Description
This expansive collection of approximately 60+ decorative architectural and ornamental appliqués offers a fascinating look at mid-to-late 20th-century interior design accents. The lot features a diverse range of motifs, including classical figurative masks, six clown heads still sealed on original manufacturer cardboard backing, musical notes, floral rosettes, scrolled acanthus leaf carvings, a patriotic eagle emblem, and a drummer figurine. Primarily crafted from molded resin, polyester, and painted plaster, these pieces were likely produced as mass-market decorative elements for furniture embellishment, wall displays, or theater props. While many pieces retain their intended finish, others show expected signs of age, including surface dust, scattered chips, varying degrees of paint wear, and minor structural losses to some of the more delicate, thinner scrollwork or decorative edges. Overall condition is consistent with vintage decorative stock, ranging from good to fair with noted wear. H 11″, W 30″, D 24″ (approximate overall footprint). Please see photos for condition.
