Description
You’ll be hard pressed to find another beautiful Pokal specimen like this – No. 1247 by Mettlach circa 1897. This Pokal highlights the names and busts of contributors that established Nuremberg as an arts, industry and culture center in the 15th and 16th centuries. In good, overall condition with no visible chips on exterior goblet – 2 cracks noted on base with a possible repair. Upper interior of body appears to have a repair with re-glazing. The lid is in good condition with no visible chips/repairs. Overall, a fine example of German craftsmanship from the era. Measures 16″T and approximately 19.5″T with lid.
