International Mutoscope is the successor company of the American Mutoscope Co. patented in 1895 by Herman Casler, the machine worked like a large Rolodex (a “flip book”), featuring about 850 cards on a circular core that produced a short movie (approx. one minute) when activated by a coin. This machine he Monaghan-Patterson boxing match for only 10 cents on a floor model viewing machine sitting on an original angle iron stand with an original cast iron marquee including insert card (broken glass on marquee). Item manufactured by the International Mutoscope Reel Co. Has lock on side door, no key. Picture reel is inside unit. Missing coin compartment door and lock. Has crank, but missing crank knob. Machine in fair to good condition. Paint finish has wear with paint chips, scratches and scuffs. Will need some restoration. Not tested. Note: Pickup/Transport required.
