Description

This quintessential piece of sporting advertising features the iconic “Bear Hounds” artwork by Henry Rankin Poore (1859–1940). Originally commissioned by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven, Connecticut, this 1907 lithograph was produced by the American Lithographic Co. in New York. Poore, a Philadelphia-based artist, was renowned for his ability to capture the soulful, rugged character of hunting dogs, making these prints highly sought after by Winchester collectors and sporting art enthusiasts alike. The piece is housed in a dark wood frame with a gold-toned inner border. Condition is good; the lithograph shows age-related wear, including several cracks and creases in the left corners and by the center dog’s body. The frame is structurally sound and shows minor scuffs and surface wear. Please see photos for overall condition. H 30.5″, W 40.25″, D 1.5″
