Lot 1297:
Description
*MAGAINZES NOT LEGAL IN ILLINOIS*
A classic Russian SKS semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, a staple of Cold War-era engineering. Manufactured in the 1950s by Tula Arsenal, the receiver, bolt, magazine cover, and trigger guard are clearly marked with the original matching serial number C03198. Currently, the rifle is housed in a modern black synthetic sporter stock and is topped with a Leapers 4×25 fixed-power scope on a receiver cover mount. This lot is particularly desirable for the purist as it includes the original laminate wood stock (matching serial number C0 3198 visible), a canvas sling, a spike bayonet, and two high-capacity “duckbill” style magazine. The dark black, Russian finish shows minor thinning on the sharp edges and standard operational wear on the bolt carrier and magazine well. The synthetic stock remains in excellent, scuff-free condition; the included original wood stock shows typical light handling marks and storage wear but retains a strong finish. The bore is clean and rifling is strong. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N:CCCP28911. C&R Eligible.
