Description
A classic example of the Chinese Type 56 SKS semi-automatic rifle, this piece features the distinctive “Factory 26” (Jianshe Arsenal) triangle stamp alongside “Type 56” in Chinese characters. Based on the serial number prefix 24, this rifle is estimated to have been manufactured in 1979-1980, following the widely accepted “millions digit” dating method for Jianshe Arsenal production (1956 + 24). Imported by Norinco/KSI out of Pomona, CA, this 7.62x39mm caliber rifle showcases a rich, reddish-finished wood stock and matching serial numbers (22230) on the bolt carrier, receiver, sight ladder, and stock. The flip-up rear sight is graduated to 1000 meters, and it includes the original canvas sling. The metalwork retains a strong blued finish with minor handling marks, and the bore is noted as crisp and bright with sharp rifling. The stock shows typical light indentations and surface wear consistent with age and storage, though it remains structurally sound and visually striking. H 6″, W 36″, D 2.75″.
