Here is a commercial reproduction of the U.S. military M1 Carbine produced by Plainfield Machine out of Dunellen, New Jersey. Manufactured from 1962 to 1978, Plainfield Machine M1 Carbines were known as a high-quality reproduction, with many parts interchangeable with the US Military Carbines. This particular rifle’s low serial number places production prior to 1970. It features one 30-round magazine, adjustable rear sight, G.I. style OD sling, and oiler. The all-matching wood stock is in good condition with some light storage marks. Metal parts retain 85% of their original finish, with visible wear/fading on the barrel and receiver. Bore is shiny and rifling is good. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. This is a perfect M1 Carbine for a reenactor looking to start a new impression or a firearm enthusiast wanting to add to their collection. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 5126.
