Description
Japanese Arisaka Type 38 bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5x50mm SR Arisaka. Originally designed in the early 20th century, the Type 38 was utilized extensively through World War II. Based on the butt stock Kanji marking, this particular rifle was used as a training/educational rifle. The receiver bears the serial number 62206 and the bolt and trigger guard strap are stamped “E41.” Physically, the rifle is in used military condition; the wood stock shows gouges, scratches, and a dark, aged patina. The metal components show surface oxidation and wear. The bolt release pin needs repair, however, the bolt does move freely. Trigger assembly does work. Bore shows heavy oxidation. This is an excellent candidate for a nice restoration project or static display piece. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 62206. C&R Eligible.
