Lot 1051:
Description
The iconic Winchester Model 1897 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. Manufactured from 1897 to 1957, these shotguns were known for their reliability, an external hammer, and their ability to slam fire. Used by both the military with the “Trench Gun” variant, and Law Enforcement in the “Riot Gun” variant, the Model 1897 as definitely left its mark in history. It features a 26.5-inch barrel, a 5-round tubular magazine, and a walnut stock. This particular shotgun was manufactured in 1922. It exhibits remnants of the original finish with a nice dark patina. The stock shows average wear from use, with several marks and dings, but is solid and shows no cracks. Bore is clean! Mechanically, the action and trigger are smooth, tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: E709565. C&R Eligible.
