Description
An ironstone ceramic service including a lidded vegetable tureen, an open serving bowl, six teacups, and two varied trays, featuring transfer-printed floral motifs in pink and aubergine with gilded accents and scalloped handles. The pieces bear the impressed and printed marks for Mellor, Taylor & Co., Hanley, England, dating to the late 19th century. Condition is consistent with age and use, showing heavy allover crazing, localized staining and discoloration to the glaze, and minor wear to the gilt rims. Chip wear on the cups and crack. Tureen: 5″ x 8″ x 8″; Trays: 1.25″ x 5..2 ” x 5.25″; .75” x 5.25” x 8.5” Teacups: 2.5″ x 3.5″ x 4″. 11 pcs total including 1 top. Own a piece of history from The Donley’s Wild West Town Museum!
