Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1519:
Description
This striking architectural element is a hand-carved corbel, likely of Indo-Persian or Swat Valley origin, featuring intricate floral rosettes, geometric chip-carving, and prominent scrolled volutes. The piece is finished in a vibrant, weathered polychrome—predominantly turquoise with golden-yellow highlights—which accentuates the deep relief of the folk-art motifs. A central circular aperture suggests it may have functioned as a structural support for a vertical post or decorative column. The item shows significant age-related wear, including various surface abrasions, deep checking and cracks in the timber, and substantial fading and chipping to the painted finish, all of which lend it a magnificent rustic character. H 13″, W 91″, D 8″. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
