Description
This unique studio pottery piece features a striking, organic form finished in a rich, multi-tonal purple and blue glaze with deep red undertones. Hand-sculpted by artist Ronna DeMyers, the figure displays a whimsical, fluid aesthetic characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century experimental ceramics; the base is clearly signed “Ronna DeMyers” and dated “7-1.” The heavy, glossy glaze application creates a glass-like texture over the earthenware body, showcasing a high level of kiln-control. Regarding condition, the tail has been broken off from the main body, though the break is clean and the piece is included for repair; the main body otherwise appears free of significant chips or cracks.
